Protector headlights with LED DRL
The most brilliant changes made to the front. Trax’s face now looks more fit for today than ever before. Frankly, the one thing that piqued my interest the most to like the old Trax was the face. The old dual port grille design has been replaced to make it more handsome. Supported again, the design of the headlights which are now narrower plus projector lamps and day-time running lights which are now LED. The lights are also auto on/off.

The diameter is still the same 18 inches for the LTZ type and 16 inches for the LT type. While the back slightly changed. Especially on the bumper and lights, which now have LED indicators that light up continuously during the day.

The dashboard has changed completely. The changes are far from before. The air conditioning vents that used to be rounded like airplane propellers are now using normal AC grilles. Many indentations at the top of the dashboard. The center console design is also more luxurious with higher quality buttons. Then the speedometer house design now borrows from the Trailblazer. Trax looks more modern because it no longer uses an old-fashioned digital speedometer that looks like a calculator screen. Even cooler, there is a touch of leather with contrasting colored stitches in front of the front passenger. This attention to detail needs to be appreciated.

In the center console there is a 7-inch touch screen head unit with MyLink technology. This means that if you have an Android smartphone or iPhone, just connect it to the head unit using the original data cable, then the smartphone screen will immediately appear on the multimedia screen. Some features of the smartphone can also be operated via the audio buttons on the steering wheel. Even though it doesn’t have a GPS navigation feature, this head unit can open the navigation features from a smartphone.
FEATURES AND CONVENIENCE
Trax now uses the Start/Stop button
The Chevrolet Trax comes with quite a few features. For example, cruise control, passive entry, start-stop button, 12V power socket and sunroof. All of these features can be redeemed at a price of Rp. 305 million. As an illustration, the Honda HR-V 1.5 E CVT which is sold for Rp. 304 million has not used a sunroof. You could say the sunroof and 12V power socket were the only advantages of the Trax compared to competitors in its class. The sunroof is only available on the HR-V with a 1.8 liter engine which costs IDR 377 million.

In terms of cabin space, the Trax is not much different from the Honda HR-V. But the tightness of the cabin space is still quieter HR-V. Just like the HR-V 1.5, the Trax’s seats are not completely covered in leather. Damping suspension was not the most comfortable. There is still the Suzuki S-Cross which has the softest legs and is sold the cheapest at a price of USD 18005.73 for the highest type.
PERFORMANCE AND DRIVING
Unchanged 1.4 liter turbocharged engine
There are no changes to the engine. The Chevrolet Trax uses a 1.4-liter turbocharged engine that produces 140 PS/4,900-6,000 rpm with a peak torque of 200 Nm/1,850-4,900 rpm. Interesting, so the peak torque that runs out at 4,900 rpm is immediately greeted by power which begins to peak at 4,900 rpm. So it feels like a soft distribution of energy and continues to be filled when accelerating. There is no need to doubt about performance. This turbo engine is very reliable taken out of town.
The cruise control feature is available
The Chevrolet Trax in Indonesia is sold only in a 6-speed automatic transmission option. This transmission can be operated manually the same as the HR-V. The difference is, if the HR-V uses paddle-shift behind the wheel, the Trax has a +/- button on the transmission lever. The function is the same, but the sensation is slightly different. I, for example, prefer triptonic shifts through the back and forth movement of the transmission lever rather than paddle-shifts or buttons like this Trax. So I just put the gear lever in position D and let the computer pick the gear automatically.
The movement of the steering wheel is quite accurate and the weight is just right. The quality of the suspension dings is not so soft, it tends to be hard. But this effect makes controlling at high speed feel more stable.
Luggage is large enough to be folded flat
In conclusion, the price of this car is not the cheapest, but it is the cheapest crossover that is equipped with a sunroof. It is also equipped with turbocharger induction assistance. The safety features are also very complete. Trax has 6 airbags, ABS brakes with EBD and BA, Traction Control, Hill Start Assist, parking sensors, parking camera and ISOFIX seats.
Trax is also the only one in its class that features Hill Descent Control. This feature will automatically maintain a constant speed when the car is on a descent so that the Trax is always under the driver’s control. This feature is not necessarily used actually in urban areas. But yes there is no harm in having this feature is not it?
